Glyphosate Removal from Water Using Biochar Based Coffee Husk Loaded Fe3O4
نویسندگان
چکیده
Glyphosate is an herbicide that usually used by farmers and considered harmful to the environment in excess amounts. To address these issues, coffee-husk-biochar-loaded Fe3O4 (CHB- Fe3O4) was as adsorbent remove glyphosate from water. CHB-Fe3O4 characteristics such pHpzc, FTIR, SEM were measured understand properties of this adsorbent. The best conditions for removal obtained at pH 2.0, where adsorption capacity percentage are 22.44 mg/g 99.64%, respectively, after 4 h adsorption. Freundlich model provided fit isotherm, demonstrating multilayer sorption. most effective characterizing kinetics pseudo-second-order with a chemical mechanism. desorption studies found use 0.1 M NaOH concentration effectively desorb 69.4%. This indicates CHB- feasible

Removal of hexavalent chromium using coffee husk
The potential to remove chromium(VI) from aqueous solutions through biosorption using coffee husk was investigated. The effects of pH, contact time, initial concentration and adsorbent dosage on the adsorption of Cr(VI) were studied. The data obeyed Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms. The Langmuir adsorption capacity was found to be 44.95 mg/g. The Freundlich constants Kf and n were 1...

Novel magnetic biochar has been successfully synthesized by using microwave technique, using discarded materials such as Empty Fruit Bunch (EFB). The optimized conditions for the best novel magnetic biochar synthesis are at 900 w reaction power, 20 min reaction time, and impregnation ratio 0.5 (biomas:FeCl3) The details physical and chemical analyses of novel magnetic biochar wer...
متن کاملRemoval of Methylene Blue from Waste Water Using Activated Carbon Prepared from Rice Husk
The possible utilization of rice husk activated carbon as an adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue dye from aqueous solutions has been investigated. In this study, activated carbons, prepared from low-cost rice husk by sulfuric acid and zinc chloride activation, were used as the adsorbent for the removal of methylene blue, a basic dye, from aqueous solutions. Effects of various experiment...

Biosorption is most economical method for removing toxic metals from waste water. The paper presents the results of studies carried out on sorption of zinc ions from aqueous solutions by a coffee industry waste s a low-cost sorbent. It was found that crushed coffee industry waste possess relatively high sorption capacity as 46.05 mg/g, when comparing with other sorbents. The biosorption studies ...
متن کاملPhosphate removal from water using zirconium-based mesoporous materials
The element phosphorus (P) is essential to all life (e.g. plants, animals and bacteria) and is a key ingredient in fertilizers to sustain high crop yields. However, the lifetime of exploitable reserves of natural ore deposits containing P is estimated to range from the next few decades to several hundreds of years, since P is intensively used in agriculture and other industries. The use of P yi...
